Kathy, I heard the news last night about Dan, and was shocked and greatly saddened! My thoughts and prayers are with you and Danny, and all of your extended family! I think back at all of the fun times and stories of Dan and Uncle Chuck, it warms my heart and soul to know that they are carrying on together in heaven! The suddenness I'm sure is unbearable, but take comfort in knowing that Dan is with our Lord Jesus Christ! With love, Jim & Bev McNerney

I am sorry for your loss. I know this is a difficult time for you all. I never got the chance to meet Mr. Daniel Smith, Jr., but knowing his son, I know he was a GREAT man. He is in a better place now. You and your family will be in my prayers. Rest in Peace

I am so sorry that we have lost such a sweet soul in Dan. He was listing our mother's house and was always so accommodating, positive, and hard-working. It was a pleasure to do business with him. The shock of his sudden death is difficult for us; I can only imagine how hard it must be for his family members. Sincerest condolences from me and my sisters.

I have very fond memories of Dan going back to my childhood in the early 1970's. Some of the best times we had were fishing with his old companion, Chuck McNerney. I loved listening to Dan and Chuck argue over whether or not professional golfers were actually athletes in the true sense of the word (Dan swore they were, Chuck swore they were not). Dan was always wonderful to me and my entire family and we will miss him tremendously. My heart goes out to Kathy and the rest of their family.

Dan was a good man. He was instrumental in finding us a home in brooklet and selling that same home 4 years layer. He loved his family and especially little children. He will be missed dearly.
